Jane The Virgin is an American satirical romantic comedy-drama television series developed by Jennie Snyder Urman, that debuted on The CW on October 13, 2014. It is a loose adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen created by Perla Farías. The series stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva, a working, religious young Latina virgin, who becomes pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake. The program parodies commonly used tropes and devices in Latin telenovelas. Jane the Virgin has received critical acclaim since its premiere. At the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, Gina Rodriguez won the award for Best Actress – Television Series, Musical or Comedy, while the show was nominated for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The series also received the Peabody Award and an AFI Award, and was nominated for Critics’ Choice Awards as well as TCA Awards. On January 11, 2015, the show was renewed for a second season. Its second season was set to premiere on October 19, 2015; however the CW moved it forward a week, having premiered on October 12, 2015. On March 11, 2016, the CW renewed the series for a third season.

Poor Señorita is a Filipino comedy-drama series to be broadcast by GMA Network starring Regine Velasquez, Ayra Mariano, Jillian Ward, Miggs Cuaderno, Zymic Jaranilla and Caprice Cayetano. It premiered on March 28, 2016 replacing Little Nanay on the network’s GMA Telebabad block, and also aired worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV. Poor Señorita is about the story of Rita Villon (Regine Velasquez), an heiress and the owner of the most successful perfume company in the country, Señorita Scents. She is an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist that is feared by all of her employees for being a strict boss. Despite her wealth, Rita never had a boyfriend and has no interest in men but deep inside, she longs for love and connection especially from her family. In a twist of events, Rita loses all her wealth. The original Super D (Richard Yap), a being from another planet who draws his power from a blue diamond, is a superhero who saves the lives of many people, including a barangay captain named Dado (Ronnie Lazaro), who was in turn inspired by the heroism of Super D and dedicates his life in serving others. His wife Belen (Sylvia Sanchez) gives birth to a son named Dodong (Marc Santiago). Dodong considered Super D as his idol during his childhood and met Nicole and Tony with whom he befriended. A crime lord, named Don Zulueta (Ronaldo Valdez), knowing Super D’s secret he used a woman (Precious Lara Quigaman) to pin him down. Super D fell in love with this woman, without both of them knowing the Don’s plan. Don Zulueta’s criminal group was able to kill Super D. To prove the superhero’s death, the criminals bombed a shopping mall, where Dado is among the casualties of the bombing.

We Will Survive is a 2016 Philippine comedy-drama television series directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, starring Pokwang and Melai Cantiveros. The series will premiere on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on February 29, 2016, succeeding Pasión de Amor.
